Analysis done for trading which is done within a day, it is called an Intra day analysis. Where as when analysis are done for buying and selling of shares to be held back over night, is called Positional analysis.

Technical indicators are only indicators and not decision makers. It is a ready made analysis to reduce human job. It can be used as a supporting tool

RSI, Relative Strength index, is a non trending indicator. When the price moves above the 30 mark, long position can be created and if it goes below 70 mark short position can be created.

Area GAP : Any gap appearing inside the non trending area is called an Area GAP.
Breakout GAP: When the GAP appears out of the Range with high volume, it is called a breakout GAP.
Runaway GAP: When the GAP extends beyond the breakout gap,
Exhaustion GAP: If there is a GAP at the opening but disappears by the END of day.

A GAP is the difference of price from the previous day closing. If the price is different from the previous day closing price, it is called a GAP.

Hammer is a sign of a bullish trend & hanging man is a sign of a bearish trend. Hammer signifies strength and Hanging man signifies pessimism. For both the volume should be high. Buying to be done if it is a hammer, and selling when it is a hanging man.

Doji means neutral. A star shaped thin candle which appears after a significant fall or surge in price(with a high volume) is called a DOJI.
When a Doji appears after a significant fall, one can create a long position and the reverse for a short position.

When the trend forms a shape of a flag, it is called a flag pattern.
Conditions:
1. The pole should be steeper at the early phase of the trend.
2. Rectangular price pattern within 3 to 7 days.
3. Volume to be low during the flag. Indicating the weakness of sellers.
4. Breakout to happen on the same side.

Triangle pattern indicates Consolidation. It takes a minimum of 45 days.
Conditions:
1. Pattern should indicate 45 day trend.
2. 5 wave trend with the lines connection the tops and bottoms forming a triangle.
3. Volume to be high during the break out.
4. Breakout can happen to any sides (Bullish or Bearish).
