    There are two types of gross misconduct and they are :-

    1. Behavioral Gross Misconduct :- Behavioral gross misconduct in the workplace can sometimes be characterized by violations of U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission anti-discrimination laws
    2. Criminal Gross Misconduct  :- Generally, most criminal offenses that happen in the workplace are defined as gross misconduct. This includes murder, sexual assault, and embezzlement. Criminal gross misconduct is typically identified and defined in a court of law.

    Gross misconduct differs in individual interpretations. Such dismissal without notice is often called ” summary dismissal ” .

    Gross misconduct is behaviour, on the part of an employee, which is so bad that it destroys the employer/employee relationship, and merits instant dismissal without notice or pay in lieu of notice.

    Meanind:

    Indiscipline so serious (such as stealing, or work place violence) that it justifies the instant dismissal of an employee, even on the first occurrence.

    Sentence form:

    You need to make sure that you are never called out for gross misconduct or your reputation may be permanently damaged.
