Normally intraday position is taken depending on the volatility of the stock. Stop loss has to be adhered to strictly. In case the position is not closed the same day then by compulsion the day trader is pulled to become a positional trader . It is not mandatory to close , but strictly this happens only in loss making situations and it is better to come out of a loss at an early stage than wait and block more capital on a loss making situation. So it is good practice to close position on a intra day trade.

The intention is to make the settlement on the same day. Hence its mandatory to close and execute on same day.

In intraday, the settlement is done on the same day.

The intraday can be changed to position trade as per the convenience
