What happens if I quote high price to buy a stock compared to its current market price?

Even if we quote higher price the exchange will consider that we are ready to pay up to the quoted price and gets the order executed at the current prevailing market price.

Even when the price is quoted high, it will be executed at the best seller price, as the exchange will read the price as “Even Upto”.

the price that currently prevails at the exchange will only get executed even if the buyer quotes higher purchase price.

If you quote high price also the stock exchange will match it with the next nearest price and freeze the deal.
