Piercing pattern and engulfing pattern difference? The engulfing pattern managed to cover the complete body, hence it indicates the full significance, but the Piercing covered only the 50% mark. However the starting point is not same as engulfing. The bullish Piercing should cover the lower tail of the previous day. This confirms the weak opening but conquered by bull at the later part of the session.
