Stock market is a place where buying and selling of shares take place, this is governed by SEBI where the interest of the buyer and sellers are protected. There are 2 types of market Primary and Secondary, Primary is for first time listing of an company and Secondary is where the post listing buying and selling take place.
there are 2 main markets in India BSE and NSE, NSE has garnered more popularity when compared to BSE. When a company is sharing the profits with the shareholders its called Dividend, when a company gives additional shares to shareholders its called bonus issue and when a stock is divided into smaller number its called split. The person who starts the company is called Promoter and the one who manages the daily functioning of the company is called Directors.
