After a steady downward trend in July, and a sideways or non trending\trading zone between August and September, an area gap was observed with no significant increase in volume on Sep 11th.The gap is then filled on 17th Sep.

It’s not a area breakout…Please the the conditions for area beakout…
1- area breakout should be in non trending zone
2- less volume is required
But in the mentioned chart there is high volume made during the gap…check properly…

Gaps are usually created when an event takes place between a market closing and next day’s opening so area gaps typically have low volume but not necessary, sometimes it may appear with high volume.
