Closing Bell: Nifty stomps to 123 point gain, Unexpected monster rally

Domestic equity index Nifty50 closed 123 points higher at 10,987 on Tuesday. The benchmark Index NSE Nifty ended the session over 1 percent gain on the back of sustained buying in auto, metal, and banking stocks despite negative global cues.

Asian stocks declined Tuesday following an overnight slip on Wall Street.

Market Update: Sharp rally takes Nifty above 10,900 mark; auto & metal index over 2%

The benchmark index Nifty were trading 69 points higher at 10,933 on Tuesday’s afternoon session. Domestic equity benchmark index Nifty hit fresh intraday high in afternoon trade with above it’s key level 10,900.  On NSE, except for IT index, all other sub-indices were trading in green with Nifty auto leading the pack, up 2.58 percent.

Morning Update: Nifty trade lower; IT stocks under pressure, metals shine

The benchmark index NSE Nifty50 were trading at 10,855 with a loss of 8 points on Tuesday. Domestic equity index Nifty were trading in the red on the back of weak cues from Asian peers and ahead of the release of key macro-data later in the day. Among sectoral indices, Nifty IT index were trading 0.68 percent lower while good buying was observed in metal index.
