Closing Bell: Nifty end flat, IT stocks weigh

Benchmark index nifty turned negative in the last hour as information technology and fast consumer goods shares came under selling pressure. However, the losses were capped as banking shares witnessed buying interest. The Nifty was down 12 points at 11712 on Friday, on weekly basis, the NSE nifty decline 0.3 percent.

Asian markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices as investors awaited the release of key US jobs data.

Market Update: Nifty trades range bound near 11,750 mark

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) traded 26 points lower at 11,748 points. Indian benchmark index nifty were trading range-bound near 11,750 mark on Friday’s afternoon session, tracking subdued Asian peers.

 At the National Stock Exchange, sectoral indices were mixed with banking, financial services, auto and realty in the green. But FMCG, metal and pharma were in the negative zone. Meanwhile, shares of Indian IT services companies also fell as the rupee stood marginally higher versus the dollar.

Morning Update: Nifty trade marginally higher led by auto and banking stocks

The NSE Nifty were trading at 11,745, up 20 points higher. Domestic equity index nifty were trading higher after two days of losses on the back of buying witness in oil marketing companies (OMCs) and financial stocks while tech stocks dragged the indices down.

Infratel, Tata Motors, and ONGC were among the top gainers. while HCL Tech, TCS, and Infosys were among the top losers on the NSE.
