Closing Bell: Nifty finished record closing high amid post-election euphoria
The NSE Nifty gained 80 points to settle at 11,924. The benchmark index Nifty ended on a positive note on Monday, driven by gains in metal and financial stocks amid post-election euphoria.
At the National Stock Exchange, all sectoral indices except pharma, IT and media were in the green. Metals, PSU Bank and Realty rose the most in trade, followed by other banking indices
Among stocks, Tata Steel was up 5.8 per cent while Yes Bank, Indian Oil, NTPC and Larsen & Toubro gained between 3 to 4 per cent. while the laggards were Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel and Tech Mahindra.
Market Update: Nifty continues to trade higher
The NSE Nifty50 rising 93 points to 11,935 level. Equity benchmark index nifty continue to trade higher in the afternoon session on Monday driven by gains in banking, metal and realty stocks. On NSE, except for Nifty media and pharma, all other sub-indices were trading in green with Nifty realty leading the pack, up 2.23 percent.
Morning Update: Nifty near 11,900 mark; Banking shares advance
The NSE Nifty were trading at 11,895, up 51 points higher on Monday. The benchmark index nifty pushed higher in the morning session, led by gains in banking, metal and energy stocks amid unabated foreign fund inflow. Meanwhile, Nifty IT slipped on strong rupee.
Top percentage gainers on the 50-scrip index were Yes bank, NTPC, Tata Steel, Power Grid, L&T, Grasim and HDFC, trading between 1.22 per cent and 5 per cent higher.
While, Zeel, JSW Steel, Indus Indbank, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel,Tata Motors, Asian Paints and Bajaj-Auto fell up to 1.89 percent.
