The Nifty broke its two-day losing streak to end about 97 points higher at 11,796 today, lifted by gains in heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Titan, HDFC and steel stocks such as JSW Steel Ltd. Among the sectoral indices, the energy stocks emerged the biggest gainer followed by metal and banking indices.

Market Update: Nifty extend the gain in the afternoon trade
The domestic share index nifty continued to rally in afternoon trade. At about 1:10 pm, the NSE Nifty was up 34 points or 0.30 per cent at 11,734. On the Nifty 33 stocks advanced against 17 that declined.
Gains in BPCL, NTPC, Reliance, Titan, Hindalco and Axis Bank pushed up Nifty. Among the NSE sectoral indices, Energy, Metal and Finance were the top gainers. Meanwhile, IT, Pharma and media indices were trading in the red.
Market Update: Nifty Fluctuate Between Gains And Losses
The broader NSE Nifty slipped 10 points to 11,689 on Tuesday. Key equity index Nifty fluctuated between gains and losses in the morning session, tracking subdued Asian markets. The investors are waiting for the US-China trade talks to be held at the G20 summit this week. Eight out of 11 sectoral gauges compiled by NSE fell, led by the NSE Nifty Media Index’s 0.92 percent decline. On the flipside, the NSE Nifty Realty Index was the top sectoral gainer, up 0.76 percent.
BPCL, ONGC, Vedanta, NTPC, IOC, Reliance, JSW Steel and India bulls Housing Finance are the top performers today in the Nifty index. While Infratel, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Eicher Motors, TCS and HDFC Bank weighed the most on Nifty.
The market breadth was tilted in favour of sellers. About 953 stocks declined and 507 shares advanced on National Stock Exchange.
