Closing Bell: The NSE NIFTY 50 Index fell 0.96 percent to settle at 10146.80 on Tuesday. Indian Equity benchmark NIFTY plunged nearly 100 points and extended losing streak for the fourth straight day amid weak global markets.

Ten out of 11 sector gauges compiled by NSE ended lower led by NIFTY PHARMA, NIFTY IT, NIFTY MEDIA, NIFTY PSU BANK and NIFTY FMCG ended as top losers. On the flipside, NIFTY REALTY is the only gainer.

From the NIFTY50 basket of shares SUNPHARMA, ASIANPAINT, WIPRO, ULTRACEMCO and GRASIM ended as top losers while HINDPETRO, IBULHSGFIN, HDFC, INDUSINDBK and YESBANK are top gainers.
