Closing Bell: Nifty snaps five-day winning streak despite out-performance in pharma sector

The benchmark index NSE Nifty 50 index closed 39 points lower at 10,922. Indian equity benchmark Nifty snapped their five-day winning streak on widespread losses across most sectors amid weak global cues. Metal index plunge over 2% led by Jindal steel which fell 4.57% followed by Vedanta, Tata steel, Hind zinc, and Jswsteel while Nifty Pharma was the out-performer of the day which ended the session 1.81% higher.

Market Update: Nifty extended fall in the afternoon session; Metal index plunge over 2% 

The benchmark index NSE Nifty 50 Index declined 45 points to 10,917. Indian equity index Nifty extended fall in the afternoon session, reversing a five days gains. Nifty Metal index was down 2.39 percent led by Jindal steel, Vedanta and Tata steel.
