Closing Bell: Nifty ends a volatile session marginally higher led by banks
The benchmark index Nifty-50 closed 35 points higher at 11,462 on Monday. Key equity index Nifty ended positive territory for the sixth straight session amid positive global cues, strong foreign fund inflows and strong rupee.
Eight out of 11 sectoral gauges compiled by NSE advanced, led by the NSE Nifty Realty Index’s 2.8 percent gain followed by banking, financial, FMCG and media sector. On the flipside, the NSE Nifty Auto Index and Nifty IT was the top sectoral loser, down 1.38 & 1.20 percent respectively.

Market Update: Nifty trade flat in afternoon session
A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets, the 50-scrip NSE (NIFTY), was trading flat at 12 points up during afternoon session on Monday. Good buying was observed in Banking, Media and Realty sectors, while selling pressure was seen in Auto, IT and PSU Bank sectors.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was weak. On NSE, 716 shares rose and 1061 shares fell. A total of 103 shares were unchanged.
Market Update: Nifty trim gains due to losses in auto, metal and pharma stocks
The benchmark index Nifty trimmed gains after hitting fresh intraday high in morning trade. The NSE Nifty index was up 18 points at 11,445 and currently trading below 11,500 mark. Among sectors, Nifty auto (down 1.68 per cent) was the top sectoral loser on NSE. It was followed by Nifty Pharma and Nifty Metal, down 0.4 per cent each.
Morning Update: Nifty begins the week on positive note amid strong global cues
The NSE Nifty were trading above 11,500 level by soaring 94 points to 11,521 on Monday. Domestic equity key index Nifty were trading higher for the sixth straight session amid strong global cues and consist foreign fund inflows. Among sectoral indices, Nifty PVT Bank index were trading 1.49 per cent higher followed by Nifty Bank, Nifty Finance Service and Nifty Realty were also trading more than 1 percent.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1948.94 crore and Domestic Institutional Investors sold Rs 2130.36 crore worth of shares in the Indian equity market on March 15.
