Closing Bell: Nifty reclaims 11,400-mark ahead of exit polls

The broader Nifty50 surged 150 points to end the day at 11,407 level. The NSE Nifty reclaimed the 11,400 level on Friday in a broad-based rally led by banking and auto stocks ahead of exit polls outcome on Monday.

On a weekly basis, Nifty rose over 1 percent 

In the Nifty 50 basket of shares, Bajaj Finance was top gainer. It was followed by Bajaj FinServ, Hero MotoCorp, Hindustan Unilever, Maruti Suzuki, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Larsen & Toubro.

On the other hand, Vedanta, Hindalco, Adani Ports, Dr Reddy’s Sun Pharma, Cipla, JSW Steel, Cipla, JSW Steel and Tata Motors were among the losers.

Meanwhile, Asian markets remained subdued during the week amid worries of a trade war.

Market Update: Nifty extend the gain in the afternoon trade 

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) traded 70 points higher at 11,328 points. Key equity index nifty continue to trade higher in the afternoon session on Friday, led by stocks such as Bajaj Finance, Hero MotoCorp, Kotak Bank, M&M, Coal India and Hindustan Unilever.

Bajaj FinServ rose 4.45% after consolidated net profit rose 31.66% to Rs 838.74 crore on 43.5% rise in total income to Rs 12995.47 crore in Q4 March 2019 over Q4 March 2018. The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 16 May 2019.

Morning Update: Nifty track Asian peers higher; auto, banking stock leads

The NSE Nifty were trading above11,300 level by soaring 50 points to 11,308 on Friday. Markets extend rally for the 2nd straight day amidst mixed Asian cues, positive corporate earnings. Among the sectors, media sectors led the gains today, rising 1.39% followed by realty, auto and finance while pharma and metal sectors were under pressure. Investors remained cautious ahead of the Lok Sabha election results next week.

Top gainers on the 50-scrip benchmark index at the time were Zeel, Hero Motor corp, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Bajaj Finance, trading between 1.23 per cent and 4.13 per cent higher.
