Closing Bell: Nifty ends above 11,650 mark; Yes Bank, Tata Motors top boost

The NSE Nifty 50 Index climbed 74 points to settle at 11,662 levels. Domestic equity index nifty ended higher on Tuesday lifted by broad-based gains led by sectors like financial, realty and FMCG sectors. However, the upside was capped by losses in the information technology and media sectors.

Yes Bank shares ended the session 11.43% higher at Rs. 103.85 ahead of its June quarter earnings due tomorrow. The stock trades back above Rs 100 per share after 7 trading sessions.

Tata Motors jumped 5.53 per cent after reports suggested that its British brand JLR has secured a loan guarantee from the UK government.

Market Update: Nifty hold morning gains; Yes Bank, Tata Motors, Titan rally

Equity benchmark index nifty retained morning gains and currently trading above 11,600 led by financials, FMCG, realty and metal stocks. The Nifty Realty index gained over 2% as heavy buying was observed in Prestige, DLF, Godrej Properties and Oberoi Realty.

Top percentage gainers on the 50-scrip index at the time were Yes Bank, Tata Motors, Titan, BPCL and Tata Steel trading between 1.68 per cent and 7.62 per cent higher. On the other hand, TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, UPL, HCL Tech and Wipro – trading between 0.79 per cent and 1.8 per cent – lower were the top laggards.

Morning Update: Nifty trades above 11,600-mark

Equity benchmark index nifty were trading higher on Tuesday with the Nifty climbed 47 points at 11,626 level, well above its key level of 11,600. The Nifty sectoral indices were trading mixed. Nifty Realty rose the highest 1.14 per cent followed by Media, Metal and Banking indices while Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma indices were under selling pressure.

Bank shares were trading with gains in Tuesday’s morning session.

Shares of ICICI Bank (up 1.24 per cent), Axis Bank 1.01 % (up 1.10 per cent), Federal Bank (up 1.08 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.99 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
