Closing Bell: Nifty takes losing streak to 7th day

The NSE Nifty50 shed 57 points to close at 11,301 on Thursday. Domestic equity index nifty went down for the seventh straight session weighed by negative global stocks. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Media was the best performing sectoral index and closed 3.58 per cent higher, while Nifty Metal index remained under pressure throughout the day and finished 1.43 per cent lower.

Market Update: Nifty Below 11,300-Mark

The broader Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange was trading at 10,263, down 94 points on Thursday. Indian benchmark index nifty was trading below 11300 mark in the afternoon deal, in line with the global market’s selloff and corporate earnings. Sector-wise only IT, media and realty stocks were made gains. Heavy selling pressure was also witnessed in the metal, banking and pharma stocks.

Morning Update: Nifty Trading Lower Amidst Weak Global Cues

The NSE Nifty50 were trading 36 points lower at 11,323 on Thursday. Key equity index nifty continued its fall for a fourth consecutive trading session this week on escalating US-China trade tension. On the NSE, barring media, IT and PSU banks, all the sectoral indices were trading in the red.

Reliance Industries, BPCL, NTPC, Infratel, Power grid and HCL were the biggest losers on the Nifty, losing up to 1 per cent. Meanwhile, top gainers on the morning session were ZEEL. Yes Bank, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finance service, Infosys and Britannia.

The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was weak. On NSE, 652 shares rose and 907 shares fell. A total of 102 shares were unchanged.
