Closing Bell: Nifty settles higher in volatile trade
The broader Nifty50 index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed above the 11,650 level to settle at 11,671 up 67 points. Indian equity benchmark index Nifty ended today’s volatile session on a strong note ahead of the earnings season. All sectoral indices except the Nifty Media were positive for the day. The Nifty PSU Bank rose the most followed by Realty, Auto, Banking and Metal indices.

Equity benchmark index Nifty were hovering in the positive and negative zone in today’s session and currently trading 45 points higher at 11,646 on Tuesday’s late afternoon session.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was up 1.25% at 3,268.20 Canara Bank rose 3.89%, Bank India, Union Bank, Bank of Baroda, PNB were also up.
The Nifty Media index was down 0.23% as selling pressure was seen in Zee Media, Jagran Prakashan Limited and Sun Tv.
Morning Update: Nifty turn choppy ahead of Q4 earnings season
The broader NSE Nifty were trading marginally higher by 21 points to 11,624 with 50 of its constituents led by HCL Tech, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors and Vedanta in the positive. Key equity index Nifty turned on a choppy note on Tuesday ahead of Q4 earning season amid mixed global cues. All sectoral indices are giving mixed trends, with gains visible among IT and FMCG, while PSU Bank are showing minor signs of pressure.
