Closing Bell: NSE Nifty Retreats From Record, Slips 69 Pts On Profit Booking

The 50-scrip benchmark index ended 69 points lower at 11,643 on Wednesday, below its key level 11,700 mark. Nifty snapped their four-day rising streak after hitting new highs during the session, largely led by profit booking, as investors remained cautious ahead of Reserve Bank’s policy decision, scheduled tomorrow. All sectoral indices ended the day in the red.

Market Update: Nifty trade flat ahead of RBI monetary policy meet

The benchmark index Nifty were trading 22 points higher at 11,733, after hitting 11,761 at day’s high. Key equity index Nifty moved sharply higher in early trade but turned flat as selling pressure in media, pharma and PSU bank stocks. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Metal index was trading nearly 1 percent gain while the Nifty PSU bank was trading 1.25 percent lower.

Morning Update: Nifty hit new record highs on positive FII sentiments & strong global cues

The NSE Nifty were trading at 11,746, up 33 points higher on Wednesday while Nifty 50 hit fresh record highs led by shares of banks, auto and metal companies along with firm cues from the global markets kept market buoyant today. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Bank index hit a new high and was trading 0.40 per cent higher followed by Nifty metal index also rose 1.12 per cent higher.
