Closing Bell: The NSE NIFTY 50 Index fell 0.12 percent to settle at 11053.80 on Wednesday. Indian Equity benchmark NIFTY resumed decline after a day’s breather dragged down by IT and FMCG shares in the volatile trading session ahead of expiry of derivative contracts for the month of September.

Among sectoral gauges compiled by NSE NIFTY PSU BANK, NIFTY IT, NIFTY FMCG and NIFTY AUTO indexes ended as top losers. On the flipside, NIFTY REALTY, NIFTY METAL and NIFTY PHARMA indexes ended as top losers.

From the NIFTY50 basket of shares TATAMOTORS, SBIN, INFRATEL, ITC and WIPRO ended as top losers while IBULHSGFIN, UPL, VEDL, TITAN and HINDALCO are top gainers.
