Closing Bell: The NSE NIFTY 50 Index fell 1.58 percent to settle at 10967.40 on Monday. Indian Equity benchmark NIFTY extended losses to a fifth session dragged by financials and automobiles. The domestic investors took a cautious stance ahead of a U.S. Federal Reserve meet on Tuesday.

All sectoral gauges compiled by NSE baring NIFTY IT ended lower led by NIFTY REALTY, NIFTY AUTO, NIFTY FIN SERVICE and NIFTY PSU BANK indexes as top losers.

From the NIFTY50 basket of shares IBULHSGFIN, EICHERMOT, M&M, HDFC and BAJFINANCE ended as top losers while TCS, COALINDIA, INFY, TECHM and RELIANCE are top gainers.
